Evolution of a Project - Belgium Pavilion on ReactionGrid - Part 7

While we are still waiting for a couple "straight-on" photographs of the Belgium Congo reliefs, I managed to take the images I had, which were badly "keystoned" and make them usable.

The other, larger relief, was moved to the inside of the patio area where I believe it should have been in the first place.

Thanks to Noël Hostens of Belgium for photos and text relating to the Belgium Pavilion. The text which is an extract of the speech addressed to the Mayor of New-York by the late King Albert, on October 4, 1919, reads:

“ I THINK THAT THERE IS NOT, IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD, ANOTHER EXAMPLE LIKE THAT OF THE CITY OF NEW-YORK WHICH, BORN NOT THREE CENTURIES AGO, HAS BECOME, IN THIS SHORT SPACE OF TIME, ONE OF THE CENTRES OF UNIVERSAL ACTIVITIES. NEW-YORK IS, INDEED, WORTHY TO BE THE COMMERCIAL AND FINANCIAL METROPOLIS OF THAT ADMIRABLE AMERICAN DEMOCRACY WHICH SHOWED ITSELF TO BE AS GREAT IN WAR AS IN PEACE AND ALWAYS GENEROUS TOWARDS THOSE WHO ARE SUFFERING.”

We want to be sure that everybody who helps gets credit. Starting with the Belgium Pavilion, we'll add a plaque thanking all the contributors for their help to the interior of each building.

I'm sure that we'll miss a few along the way, and we will correct those oversights as we find them.

Well, there's certainly a lot more coming for the Belgium Pavilion ... and the rest of the Fair.
