'39 World's Fair Re-construction Update

The Fair reconstruction project is moving ahead but at a rather slow pace. A bridge between "39FairHq" and "TrylonAndPerisphere" sim is up with a few of the nation's flags flying proudly.

Building of the Westinghouse and NCR pavilions should start by mid-February. Westinghouse has granted us access to all of the Fair's archive records at no cost. We thank them for their generous offer especially since this is an all-volunteer project and we have no budget to purchase photos and information. There is a 2 minute silent film on Westinghouse in front of the Production Zone area on the "zone walk". The film is several clips taken from the Medicus collection which is available at http://www.archives.org. We will be adding more film shorts as time goes by.

One of the members of the group is in possession of 8mm and 16mm films of the Fair which need to be transfered to a digital DVD format. If you have the capability of doing digital transfer and would be willing to donate your time, please contact me at 1939NYWF@pmphoto.to

Hopefully by the next blog, we'll have some new photos of the project to share with you.
